The ass switch on the Malekko B:Assmaster… What is it used for ?
The Malekko B:Assmaster (full name Barker Assmaster) is most often referred to as the Assmaster. It is inspired by the original Maestro Bass Brassmaster octave fuzz pedal, a pedal from the ’70s that aimed to get trumpet-like tones from an electric guitar or bass.
The 5 control knobs and switches of the Assmaster provide control over the tone, overtones, harmonics and mix of the dry and wet signal.
The B:assmaster is a harmonic fuzz/octave pedal tuned for bass guitar. The “Ass” switch selects between different fuzz tone, and the corresponding knob controls fuzz volume.
Personally, I gotta love any pedal with a “Harm” switch.
The assmaster is one of the greatest sputtering fuzz/ octave harmonics pedals out there. it’s a repro of the brassmaster. definitely NOT a fail. The ass and harm switches dial in different fuzzes and harmonics. great dry level boost also (ass knob)
The name of the pedal and the controls are funny… That’s why we featured it here 🙂
