We’ve all been there. Guitar strings, “the heavier the better”, right ? I mean, sure, we all want to rock out and make some noise, but this is just taking it too far.

But let’s be real, this guitar was probably owned by a metalhead who’s used to crank up the distortion to 11.

And he probably thought, acoustic metal guitar ! “More strings, more metal!” But it’s like that old saying, “You can have too much of a good thing.”

It’s like the guitar is saying, “I can’t take it anymore! This is not what I signed up for!”

It’s almost like the guitar is trying to escape its fate, like a trapped animal trying to chew its way out of a cage. I wonder what amount of guitar heroics from a luthier can fix this level of damage.

So let this be a lesson to all of us, musicians and guitar enthusiasts alike. Let’s be kind to our instruments and remember that there is such a thing as too much metal.

So you’ve read the cautionary tale above, and now you’re wondering, “How do I choose the right guitar strings without putting my beloved instrument in the crosshairs of a metalocalypse?” Wait no more ! Go check our Guide for the Plucking Perplexed : How to Choose Your Guitar Strings Gauge ?
