This guitar was handed to the band, FOC, when a sponsorship from Budweiser was granted to support their US tours.
It was a valuable sponsorship as they were provided with financial support, strings, pics, and an unlimited supply of beer. And no, it did not have to be Bud Dry, as that beer would guarantee Montezuma’s Revenge within an hour. The only requirement was to display a sign that made it look as if they were playing at a salad bar, and have this unplayable monstrosity on stage, as the intonation was poor and could not be fixed.
Later on, another faile was created when the best parts of nudie magazines were clipped and decoupaged onto it, thus creating the “Pr0n Axe.”
