The Skatar was created by Keith Irish, guitarist of Punk as a Doornail, by combining a skateboard and a guitar. The Skatar has no neck and both bass and guitar channels. The Skatar is played with a slide, which is a Hennessy bottle.

The creator considers each one they build a work of art and they like to make it look unique, sometimes even purposely awful. Keith Irish tried to get sponsorship from skateboard companies but was unsuccessful.
